Stay sharp and make the most of summer 2024.
Ready for summer? Want to stay prepared for next school year? Here are your TO DO items for summer 2024.
ITEM #1, for parents: forms to complete online
Every year, families must submit or update crucial medical records and forms for their students by August 1. As your child may have doctor's appointments scheduled this summer, you may want to consider bringing the necessary forms to complete during your visit.
Rising K, 7th and 12th graders and new students will need to submit immunization records at the beginning of the 24/25 school year. New students and rising K students will need a current physical submitted as well.
More details are available here. In July, we'll send reminders explaining how to submit your student’s medical forms to the school through Magnus, our student health record software.
Stay curious this summer! Assignments are engaging and designed to keep your skills sharp. You may have picked up a paper copy of this packet during end-of-year conferences, but if you didn't, don't worry— you can also find them here. (Parents, please encourage your student to complete these assignments this summer to ensure a smooth start to the next academic year.)
We are excited to offer summer enrichment camps on our campus for CDS students in rising grades PreK-8! These camps provide students with the opportunity to get back on campus in a fun and relaxed way. Each offering is designed to ignite creativity, exploration, and a love for learning beyond the school day. All camps are held on campus. See the Summer Enrichment 2024 Camp Information page for details. Registration opens Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
This summer, our CDS coaches will be hosting a variety of sports clinics tailored to different interests and skill levels. Improve your volleyball skills with Coaches Tim Ward and Jordan Kodek, get a fitness boost with Coach Will Lewis in our Pre-Season Fitness Clinic, or enhance your soccer game with Coach Brandon Wangrin. For more details and to sign up, check out the full information here.
If you are interested in sports or skills clinics for your child for the 2024-25 school year—in any grade—please read the 2024-25 Athletic & Clinic Offerings document, review the athletic requirements, and register using Teamsnap. We understand that plans may change, so rest assured that registering does not obligate your child to participate in any sport. It simply helps our school gauge student interest, anticipate our coaching needs, and plan for the year. If you have questions, contact athletics@carolinaday.org. Throughout the summer, our Athletics Department will send updates regarding the fall 2024-25 season. Stay tuned to your CDS email account for these communications to support your child’s athletic endeavors.
The 2024-25 Academic calendar is available on our website at carolinaday.org/calendar. This calendar includes important beginning-of-school dates, such as August 19, which marks Welcome Wildcats Day (½ day), and August 20, the first full day of school. For additional details about the start of the school year, we will be sending a comprehensive summer email in late July.
Back-to-school shopping should be simple and easy. For grades PK–8 and Key grades 2–8, almost all supplies will be provided, including technology. For regular school days, there are just a few items you need to bring. For grades 9–12, supplies are determined by the student’s enrolled courses. Students in grades 9–12 will also need to bring a laptop (see our recommendations). Check out our lists by grade at the link.
No matter where you shop this summer, it's easy to know what to get for school—just reference the Standard Code of Dress for your grade.

As the new school year approaches, we'll soon be inquiring about your transportation plans, including bus route preferences, and after-school care needs. There's no action needed at the moment, stay tuned for more details later in the summer.
We eagerly look forward to welcoming our Wildcats back to Carolina Day School in the upcoming school year!
