Carolina Day School celebrates Homecoming with a walk down "memory lane".
Remember that old-school feeling? That rush of joy and adrenaline storming the soccer field after a big win? Or the swell of applause at the end of your first band concert? Remember that one teacher and the look on her face when you finally passed a test you’d been worried about for weeks? Laughing by the lockers with your best friend? These are the experiences that bind us together as Carolina Day community members, whether we’re still students, newly minted alumni, St. Genevieve-of-the-Pines or Asheville Country Day graduates flipping through photo albums, or past parents and faculty. Old school and new school have common ground through Homecoming.
Homecoming is our chance to bring that old-school nostalgia back. Connections like the ones we formed as students are still being made every day at CDS. Our legacies live on as new stars take the stage during school plays, young athletes strive to break the records we set, and new scholars are added to the ranks of the National Merit Society . These are the shared experiences that permeate our home. Home is not always a place. Often, it’s a feeling, a communal adventure, a chance to see our past reflected in the present. So highlanders from past and present, welcome home. Take a walk down memory lane. Meet new friends, visit with old friends, and hug a past teacher. Share your memories. Pay homage to past traditions and witness new ones. Come as you are. Come together. Come home.

Past Faculty and Staff Luncheon
Friday, October 6, 2023
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
It isn’t just the past students that called SG-GH, ACDS, and CDS home. Our beloved faculty and staff also loved the classrooms and hallways that made the school such a special place. We are inviting everyone home this year and will be hosting a special lunch in their honor.
*At the conclusion of the luncheon, guests are invited to join current CDS faculty and staff, families, and alumni under the Alumni Association tent at the Fall Family Festival.
RSVPs are required to attend the event. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org no later than September 27, 2023.

Bob Henson (1939-2012) who will be inducted into the Artists Hall of Fame. After four decades of service to ACDS and CDS, Mr. Henson retired in 2012. His intent and plans to positively impact the school and future students did not end with his retirement, however; Mr. Henson also bequeathed his entire estate to CDS’s endowment, profoundly anchoring the school’s future in perpetuity.
There will also be an Alumni Cocktail from 7:00pm-9:00pm immediately following the Awards Ceremony. Please RSVP by emailing email@example.com before September 27, 2023.
* A collection of Mr. Henson's artwork will be displayed in the Joan and Tom Scott Gallery corridor in Love Hall throughout October, offering the whole CDS community a chance to learn more about him and appreciate his legacy.
