Carolina Day Track and Field Heads to State Championships

Following a fantastic showing at the CAA Conference Championships, the Carolina Day School Track and Field teams advance to the NCISAA Division II Track and Field Championships taking place Friday, May 17–Sat May 18, 2019, at Gaston Christian School.

At the Conference Championships at Asheville School on May 8, the girls team placed 2nd overall and the boys 3rd overall. Individual results were as follows:

  • 1st place- Girls Shot Put- Mary Scott Robinson ’20-  34-09.00

  • 1st place- Girls Discus Throw- Mary Scott Robinson ’20-  95-03

  • 1st place- Boys Long Jump- Anderson Lawler ’20-  21-04.25

  • 1st place- Girls High Jump- Gea Rotolo ’21- 4-06.00

  • 1st place- Boys High Jump- Lee Langstaff ’20 - 6-06.00

  • 1st place- Girls 4x800 Meter Relay- (Ashlyn Browne ’21, Abby Smith ’24, Ellen Weaver ’19, Olivia Sutter ’20)-  11:05.69

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place- Girls 1600 Meter Run- Erin Hovendon ’22 - 5:21.13, Olivia Sutter ’20- 5:22.61, Abby Smith ’24- 5:43.19

  • 1st place- Girls 300 Meter Hurdles- Peyton Jenkins ’20 - 54.79

  • 1st place- Girls 800 Meter Run- Erin Hovendon ’22- 2:26.91

  • 1st and 2nd place- Girls 3200 Meter Run- Katie Rudins ’22- 12:28.26, Ellen Weaver ’19- 12:30.91
