Lots of tremendous effort this weekend as our Cats competed in their last contests of the season before classes begin next week. Thanks to all of the great fans that attended all events! If you weren't able to catch the Cats, here's a quick recap:
Varsity team members run at the North Carolina Cross-Country Carnival. Strong run by NCISAA All-State Cat runner Ralene Kwiatkwoski as she placed 3rd overall. Congrats to all Cat runners.
Cats faced NCISAA 3A perennial field hockey power Charlotte Country Day School - a tough opponent to start the season, but the Cats battled and grew. We know so much more about our team (all good stuff) and are ready for another opportunity to improve. Strong start to what will be a successful season. Cats fall to Charlotte Country Day School, 6-0.
Hot play on Friday as the Cats hosted NCISAA 2A Gaston Day in boys soccer. The Cats went up 1-0 early, but Gaston Day fought their way back into the match, scoring 2 goals to take a 2-1 lead going into halftime. A well-played match by both sides ends with a 2-1 victory for Gaston Day.
Gaston Day has an experienced team and their effort on the court was reflective of that experience. Our Cats, a talented, but younger group, held their own as they competed for every point. Congrats on improving and preparing for the next opponent. Cats lose to Gaston Day, 8-1.
What great play by the Cats as they too battled Gaston Day! So many good things to report from the match including strong team unity and focus from both the JV and V group. Strong building blocks for improvement as we move into fall play! JV Cats lose to Caston Day, 2-1. Varsity Cats lose, 3-1.
