Carolina Day’s fifth grade First Lego League team competed at the First Lego League (FLL) Qualifying Tournament at Blue Ridge Community College Saturday, November 14. The team scored a best overall team record of 217 points. Although this score was not high enough to advance to the State Tournament, the team made huge strides since entering this competition for the first time last year. Great job, Wildcats!

The Lower School fifth grade First Lego League team roster includes Margaret Bourne, Ellsworth Sullivan, Josie Sutter, Greyson Henry, Asa Bryan, Jacob Fendler, and Charlie Douglas. Alternates are Camp DeJong, Joseph Baker, and Rachael White.

Carolina Day’s First Lego League is immersed in real-world science and technology challenges. Team members design solutions to a current scientific problem and build an autonomous LEGO robot that performs a series of missions. Through their participation, students have fun, build friendships, develop valuable life skills, and discover exciting career possibilities.
