ASHEVILLE, NC- Carolina Day senior Tess Harris signed a National Letter of Intent Wednesday afternoon to play college basketball at Western Carolina University. Harris, a 2014-15 North Carolina Independent School All-State performer and a 2015 CAA All-Conference selection, finalized her decision in front of family, friends, coaches, and teachers.

Harris helped lead the Lady Wildcats to their fifth consecutive NCISAA 2A Championship this past season and will play a major role this season for the Wildcats as they look to defend their state championship title.

Wildcat Coach Joe Carrington said the following of Harris, "Tess is one of the most versatile players that I have ever coached. She has great three-point range and an ability to take mismatches inside and post them up. She has tremendous upside and will be a great asset to the Catamount program. I am excited for Tess and expect big things out of her at Western Carolina."

Harris chose Western Carolina over numerous schools, but according to Harris, “Western is the right place for me. I am looking forward to being part of the Catamount program and working hard for Coach McCormick. I am excited about the future.”
