Outreach

At Carolina Day School, we believe education has the power to strengthen not only individual students, but entire communities. Through long-standing community relationships, CDS Outreach initiatives provide academic support, mentorship, and meaningful connection to teachers and students across Western North Carolina. These programs are rooted in the same values that guide our work on campus: intellectual curiosity, compassion, and a belief in the potential of every child.

Key Learning Center

Carolina Day School's Key Learning Center (KLC) serves as an internationally-accredited resource for educators, students, and parents in the field of Orton-Gillingham multisensory structured language, multisensory mathematics, and language-based learning differences—dyslexia.  The KLC is housed on the campus of Carolina Day School and seeks to serve our local community, the Western North Carolina region, and many states beyond our region.

Tutoring Connection

The Tutoring Connection program is a resource to help families in the Asheville area who are seeking specialized academic assistance. Our program pairs students with qualified, experienced tutors who are dedicated to helping each learner achieve success. Whether a child needs help building foundational skills, mastering advanced topics, or navigating school-related challenges, Tutoring Connection offers tailored support to meet their needs.

Horizons at Carolina Day

In 2018, Carolina Day School formed an exciting partnership with Horizons National to host a high-quality, summer enrichment program on the CDS campus for eligible public school students. Through academic enrichment focused on literacy, STEM, the arts, and sports, Horizons changes the life trajectory of low-income students by instilling in them the joy of learning, the skills for success, and the inspiration to realize their dreams.
