As you know, the safety, security and well-being of our students and community is always our top priority. We continue to closely monitor the status of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We are working hard to be as prepared and proactive as possible so that we can maintain the health and safety of our community, be responsive and responsible to a rapidly unfolding situation, and focus on student learning given various conditions.
- U.S. State Department issues advisories for travel and currently has issued Level 4 advisories (do not travel) for China and the Hubei province, which includes Wuhan.

CDS began spring break for students on Monday, March 16 and remains on break until March 29.
Remote teaching and learning began March 30.
Athletics: The North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) has suspended all spring sports indefinitely. Suspension of interscholastic games, scrimmages and/or contests began Friday, March 13, and will continue until further notice.
CDS has suspended all practices until further notice.
