Boosting Language Skills Through Phrase Work in the OG Lesson

This session is targeted to the development of the more advanced linguistic concept of syntactic awareness to support practitioners in addressing higher-level language skills within their OG lesson. Reading and spelling phrases in the OG Lesson bridges the gap between single-word reading and connected text.

Participants will explore the role of syntactic awareness and its effect on fluency and comprehension by reviewing types of phrases vs. clauses to target specific instructional goals and strategies for the development of high-quality and accurate phrases for the reading and spelling portion of the OG lesson.
