Meetings

There’s no replacement for the connection we feel during in-person events. Socials, fundraisers, and traditional community gatherings like Homecoming that bring our alumni together are where we enliven our shared memories. They’re where we laugh together, break bread together, and lift each other up. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the last few years, it’s that it is still possible to connect with one another in effective ways online.

The Alumni Association will be hosting meetings throughout the year to keep alumni updated and engaged. If you are interested in participating in a meeting this year or want to get more involved with the board or on a committee, please email Grady Bradshaw and Becky Vlachoyannis at alumni@carolinaday.org.

All full Alumni Association meetings will be hybrid meetings, meaning you can join us in person or join us from the comfort of home wherever that may be!

As you prepare to join us via zoom for a meeting, here are some tips and things to consider:

  • You will need a computer or mobile device with reliable internet access, a webcam, and a microphone to participate in the meeting.

  • Do a test run.  If you have not used Zoom before on the device you plan on using for the meeting, you may wish to join a test meeting space. This will prompt your device to download and launch the Zoom app. The test will allow you to join a test space and test your audio/visual capabilities.

  • Look for the provided meeting link from the Alumni Office. Each event will have a specific invitation link and password/passkey.

  • Make sure you enter your first and last name along with your graduation year and school. For example, Jane Smith SGP ’67.

  • Get familiar with the icons and capabilities of Zoom.  You are able to manage your audio/visual, use a chat space to message the host or other participants, raise your hand, and change the view on your screen.

  • If you are experiencing issues or are unable to connect with the provided link, please email alumni@carolinaday.org
