SDLC and PoCC 2020

Carolina Day School was proud to be able to send faculty and staff—and, for the third year, students—to the National Association of Independent Schools’ (NAIS) Student Diversity Leadership Conference (SDLC) and the People of Color Conference (PoCC), this year held virtually from November 30–December 4. The theme of this year’s conference was “New Decade, New Destinies: Challenging Self, Changing systems, Choosing Justice.”

One Act - Time Enough

The Theatre Department at Carolina Day School is celebrating their participation in the 2020 NCTC High School Play Festival: Virtual Showcase. The theatre program, led by David Dvorscak, is presenting “Time Enough” in the Showcase. This year, theatre arts educators and students rose to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and presented their work virtually.

Listening for the Needs Behind the Questions

In an article published in the Center for Responsive Schools Journal for Social and Emotional Learning, Carolina Day teacher Alicia Cardina proposes that listening for the needs behind the questions is key in navigating the unknown while still delivering a meaningful educational experience to students.

Honors papers recognizes exemplary Academic Writing Across Upper School disciplines.
