Carolina Day School senior Olivia Sutter ’20 has committed to swim at Cornell University, an NCAA D1 program located in Ithaca, NY. Sutter, highly recruited as a swimmer, officially pledged to the school at a ceremony on the campus of Carolina Day School, signing her national letter of intent with Cornell.
“After my official visit to Cornell, I knew I could see myself as a student-athlete on campus,” said Sutter. “I really felt like I connected with the team and loved the positive and energetic atmosphere they set. I had the opportunity to sit in on an organic chemistry class, and this confirmed my interest in the biological sciences program. In addition, the campus and the surrounding area were absolutely gorgeous!”
Sutter excelled in the water, earning numerous NCISAA 2A and 3A Individual and Team titles for the Wildcats. Sutter, like Dockendorf, was a three-sport athlete for the Wildcats. She was named the Citizen-Times Runner of the Year last fall and has been named numerous times to the Citizen-Times All-WNC Swimming team. She has also earned NCISAA All-State honors, CAA All-Conference Honors in both swimming and cross-country.
In addition to the above, Sutter was named an Owen Award Honoree at Carolina Day School. The Owen Award recognizes athletic, academic, and community excellence.
