Four Wildcat swimmers qualify for State Championships

On Saturday, January 30, the Carolina Day School swim team competed in the 2021 CAA Conference Championship. Four Wildcat swimmers made their way to the Asheville School to represent Carolina Day in the CAA Swimming Championship meet. Each swimmer really pushed themselves at this meet, and we couldn’t be prouder of their successes.

  • Jackson Lammers '21 was honored as a senior at the beginning of the meet. He dropped 1.52 seconds off of his 50 Free, placing 2nd, and 0.86 seconds off of his 100 Free, placing 3rd. With these swims, Jackson qualified in two additional events for the State Championship.
  • Louisa Koon '24 dropped 0.98 seconds off of her 50 free, placing 3rd, and 1.07 seconds off of her 100 breast, coming in 1st. This 1st place win made her an All-Conference champion and qualified her in the event for the State Championship.
  • Nathan Flaherty '25 dropped 0.67 seconds off of his 50 free and 12.73 seconds off of his 100 Breaststroke, which qualified him to swim it at the State meet!
  • Charlie Pommerer '24 dropped another 0.22 seconds off of his 50 free and came very close to his personal best in his 100 Back, which also qualified him to swim it at the State meet.

All four swimmers will be traveling to the Greensboro Aquatic Center to represent Carolina Day School at the NCISAA Div I-III State Championships on Monday, February 8, 2021.

We anticipate the event will be livestreamed for all Wildcats to watch and cheer on our swimmers—carolinaday.org/watchcats.
