Carolina Day School held a community signing ceremony for student-athlete Ella Dockendorf ’20, a standout soccer player for the CDS Wildcats, for committing to play soccer at NCAA D2, St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas.
“I chose St. Edwards because it provides a smaller community within a big city,” said Dockendorf. “I loved the diversity of the student body and the emphasis on creativity and individualism that I saw on campus. I also felt like the soccer program would be a good fit.”
Dockendorf has received many honors during her time at Carolina Day. She was a member of the Citizen-Times All-WNC Soccer Team last year, a member of the Citizen-Times All-WNC Cross Country Team multiple times, received CAA All-Conference Honors, and was named to the 2019 NCISAA All-State Soccer team. Dockendorf was also a member of the CDS cross-country team, helping the team earn four straight NCISAA Cross-Country titles. She led the Wildcats soccer program to the NCISAA State 3A Finals last year, where the ’Cats earned an NCISAA Runner-Up State title.
In addition to the above, Dockendorf was named an Owen Award Honoree at Carolina Day School. The Owen Award recognizes athletic, academic, and community excellence.
