Greetings and welcome to Carolina Day School!
We are thrilled by your interest in exploring our dynamic community further. Here at CDS, we are committed to delivering a comprehensive liberal arts education, emphasizing excellence through adaptable teaching and learning, and nurturing the development of the whole child.
These principles have long defined our institution, serving as the foundation from which we envision our students embarking on lives filled with purpose, significance, and joy beyond our school grounds. Our goal is to ignite their passions, nurture their ideas, and cultivate their aspirations, empowering them to make positive contributions to the world.
I have immense admiration for our students and faculty, and I truly believe that engaging with them in person is the most authentic way to experience our community and its spirit. Their stories paint a vivid picture of who we are that words alone cannot capture. We are excited to announce, thanks to the extraordinary philanthropic partnership and support of two families in the extended CDS community, we will begin an ambitious and transformative capital construction project on campus in June 2024.

Carolina Day's Interim Head of School Brett Fuhrman delivered a powerful message at the 2023-2024 school year Convocation ceremony, setting the tone for an incredible school year ahead.
Board of Trustees
The Head of School, who is hired by the Board of Trustees and reports directly to the Board, is responsible for the implementation of the school's mission and goals. The Board of Trustees, in turn, provides oversight and guidance to the Head of School, ensuring that the school is operating effectively, adhering to its mission, and making progress towards its strategic objectives.
