Lida Wu Grindstaff

Pre-K Instructional Assistant

Lower School

Lida Wu Grindstaff is an instructional assistant in Pre-K and joined Carolina Day in 2022. Lida earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Xavier University, Philippines. She began her passion for education when she offered her whole year after college as a volunteer for the Associate Missionaries of the Assumption Volunteer Program and got assigned to a Catholic Seminary School outside her region. Inspired by the Religious of the Assumption sisters who are dedicated to the transformation of society through prayer and education, Lida changed route from the medical field to the educational field, so she started teaching in the year 2000 at Corpus Christi School in her hometown. In 2008, she moved to Asheville to be with her loving husband, Jerry. Prior to CDS she was an instructional assistant at Oakley Elementary.
