Erin James is a Learning Specialist in the Middle School. She joined Carolina Day School in 2021. Erin has been teaching for the past twelve years where her focus has been on diverse learners. Throughout her career, she has co-taught ELA and math courses, taught study skills classes, and served as a student case manager. 

Erin has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Belmont University and a masters degree in special education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Erin and her family moved to WNC from Birmingham, Alabama. Her partner, Ryan, is also a CDS teacher, and her children Evan '29 and James '33 are both Wildcats. In her free time, Erin loves yoga, hiking, camping, and playing with River, their Miniature Australian Shepherd.
