Richard Hoffman teaches 7th and 8th Grade in the Key School and joined Carolina Day in 2020. Richard has his Bachelor’s degree in English from East Washington University. He has a range of teaching experiences from 5th grade through 9th grade with a special focus on reading, grammar, and writing. Prior to coming to CDS, his most recent teaching experience was in Baltimore City where he taught at an independent middle school teaching Language Arts utilizing a multisensory teaching approach while working with students in small groups. In addition, he has a great deal of experience tutoring students to improve their reading, writing, and all aspects of language arts.
Richard is a native of the Los Angeles area in California. He loves outdoor adventures, reading, and staying active. His volunteer experiences have included working with youth who have experienced trauma and working with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program.
