Jessica Baldwin is the Lower School Visual Art Teacher and joined CDS in 2020. Jessica has been teaching visual art since 2006. She has taught art in K-12 schools, community centers and art museums. Jessica is dedicated to uplifting communities through the arts. Along with teaching, Jessica is a practicing visual artist with a keen interest in sustainability, drawing, painting and performance art.

How would you describe your classroom? "The Lower School art studio is a safe and welcoming space for all students  to dream, make discoveries, and express themselves through art making. It is full of color, sparkles, inspiration and tools to make creative ideas come alive."

How would you describe yourself and/or your approach to your job in 10 words or less? "Make joy! I encourage creative play, dreaming and artistic expression." 

What personal passion brings balance to your life? "I turn to the arts to bring balance to my life. Art making energizes me. I love attending and participating in community art events. I also enjoy cooking and gardening."
