Lauren Evans is the Lower and Middle School Principal. She joined Carolina Day as the Lower School principal in 2020. Lauren comes to CDS by way of Asheville Primary School, where she was recognized as Asheville City School's Principal of the Year in 2019. She has also served as assistant principal for Vance Elementary, curriculum director at a Charlotte secondary school (MS and HS), manager of teacher leadership at Teach for America, and special education teacher at Isaac Dickson Elementary. 

Lauren received a B.A. degree in English from the University of Maryland, an M.A. in Learning Disabilities from American University, and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Queens University. Lauren is trained in the Orton-Gillingham method.

Lauren is the parent of Max and Oli, both class of '33 Wildcats.
