Interim Head of School
B.S.B.A., Drake University
Administration

Brett Fuhrman is Carolina Day's Interim Head of School.

No stranger to Carolina Day, Fuhrman’s journey at the school started in 2017 when he joined as the day-to-day Chief Financial Officer, a position he held full-time until 2020 and continued to contribute to on a consultative basis until 2023 as a fractional strategic Chief Financial Officer. In May 2023, his tenure as a consultant concluded with the successful recruitment of CDS's new Chief Financial and Operations Officer. As a parent, he has a personal connection to CDS, with all three of his children currently attending.

With a strong background in executive management within independent schools, Fuhrman brings valuable expertise to his role as Interim Head of School. Most recently he served as the Vice President of Finance and Operations at The Association of Boarding Schools while also providing advisory services to small businesses and non-profits as Founder and Principal of the Parke Consulting Group. Fuhrman earned his B.S.B.A. from Drake University.

Fuhrman has committed to serve in the Interim Head of School role for the next two years, as the Board initiates a thoughtful and intentional search for a permanent Head of School. Fuhrman’s priority areas of focus will include: campus safety and security, stability and stewardship to support excellence in education, actively engaging in strategic thinking with the Board, and the implementation of structures and sound practices that will pave the way for a seamless transition to a permanent Head of School.
