Get to know Jessica Rannie:
What do you like about CDS? "Carolina Day School is a warm, caring, supportive environment in which all individuals are encouraged to try new things, explore and embrace their similarities and differences. I am taken with such devotion, enthusiasm and passion that is shared among each and every individual that is a part of this campus community and I am excited to be a part of it."
What personal passion brings balance to your life? "My family. I adore above all things, my children and my husband. They give me the confidence, support and unconditional love each and every day that inspires and excites me for what lies ahead."
What books inspire you in your classroom? "The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein, and Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown are two of my all-time favorites. As a young child, I loved evening snuggles and story time with my mother and father as I drifted off to sleep and now I have the pleasure of sharing these very same traditions with my own children. Whether it is a message of unconditional love, the importance to appreciate and respect all things, the reassurance of never being alone, or the emphasis of routine, these books inspire me to slow down and be present in all aspects in life and learning."
