Ian Riddell is the STEM facilitator for grades PK–8 and has been at Carolina Day since 2014. Although his title may change and his responsibilities might shift, he remains committed to enhancing the student experience by providing opportunities for students to think critically about science and mathematics through hands-on experiences in their school day. Ian has assisted Carolina Day in its shift to the Next-Generation Science Standards and provides support to students and teachers alike as our science instruction evolves. He has crafted a STEM workshop in the Lower School that includes hand-tools, scientific equipment, Legos, computers, and much more. He has also been instrumental in bringing Odyssey of the Mind (OM) to Carolina Day. The OM program has grown year after year, and has a solid track record of advancing students to the State Tournament. Ian hails from the Green Mountain State, Vermont. He is married to Asheville artist Melissa Moss and they have a son, Samuel.
