Get to know Margot Moses:

What do you like most about your job at CDS? “I’m excited about working closely with all of the students, to have fun while working hard.”

In your opinion, how does the CDS community inspire students to be courageous and curious, wonder about things that they don’t understand, try new things, and develop individual passions? “It seems like there are lots of opportunities to take risks here. If you don’t take risks, you won’t stretch yourself and grow. CDS feels like a place that allows that to happen.”

What books and authors inspire you? “Recently Daniel Pink’s Drive has been inspiring… I think his approach to business can actually be applied to education. There is a great Youtube video produced by RSA Animation that explains Pink’s theory on motivation. I used it in my classroom and I have shown it to faculty members who I have worked with. I like the idea of thinking outside of the box.”

What is your favorite quote about education, mentorship, children, and/or learning? “I find different ones all the time that are inspiring.”

What personal passion brings balance to your life? “I love the outdoors! Hiking, biking, running, paddling, and camping. For me, working your body hard all day then cooking over an open fire is one of life’s simplest but most rewarding pleasures. I get very giddy when I am in the woods!”

Is there anything else we should know about you and your work? “I am so thrilled to be part of this community and to learn the culture and be part of the changes that are going to make this school even better!”
